This paper introduces the XFree86（4.4.0）, and the structure of its source, the building and installing of the source distribution. Then it analyses the reducing of the XFree86 on the client of NC and how to start X. The paper also compares the window managers and chooses one for the server of NC. Especially it describes a method to implement a kind of secure NC with the uses of the port forwarding of SSH.
