Size,Quality and Characteristics——On the Problems of the Current Development of Higher Education of China

当前中国高等教育发展形势大好,学生数量的增长迅速,办学形式多样化,教学质量在某些方面有所提高,高等教育经费快速增加。但与此同时,高等教育发展过程中也存在诸多有待解决和研究的问题:一是高等教育发展的规模速度问题;二是如何看待高等教育质量的问题;三是高等学校的分类、特点与发展方向问题。总之,对当前我国高等教育的发展既要看到其形势大好的一面,同时也要正视存在的问题,只有这样,才能使我国的高等教育稳步健康地发展。

The current development of China＇s higher education is in a rather good situation with the rapid increase in the number of students in the school and diversified running forms. Besides, the teaching quality in certain areas has been improved and the funding for higher education has increased rapidly. However, in the course of the development of higher education there are also many problems to be resolved and studied： first, the scale of development of higher education; second, how to assess the quality of higher education; third, the classification, characteristics and the direction of development of universities and colleges. In short, we should not only acknowledge the good situation of the current development of China＇s higher education but also be aware of its existing problems. Only in this way can the higher education of China develop steadily and healthily.
