Xin Qiji＇s humourous Ci poetry not only contains a profound ideological content but also reflects the varied artistic techniques by making anything, from a merry laugh to an angry curse, into beautiful writing. Xin Qiji＇s poetry displays his unique ideological temperament and outstanding artistic talents. This paper makes an analysis of the frequently used artistic techniques in Xin＇s humourous Ci poetry in order to have a better understanding of his varied artistic techniques in Ci poetry which was synthesized and brought to the highest development of the Ci poetry in the Song Dynasty.
