On Imagery Tragedy and Cause of Li Shang-yin's Poems

晚唐诗人李商隐是中国古代诗人中刻意追求意象美的杰出代表,他是一位积极入世的诗人,但因其政治追求的失意和人生际遇的坎坷,情感长期郁积,导致他的诗歌意象运用独特,形成了一系列以悲剧心态为情感底蕴的诗歌意象,有浓烈的主观色彩和悲剧情调,从而产生了跨越古今的美学感染力。

The late Tang poet Li Shang-yin is an outstanding representative among ancient Chinese poets who sedulously strived for imagery beauty. He was eager to take part in political affairs, but was frustrated. His disappointment on political ideal, unfavorable turns in life and pent-up vexation of emotion lead to a series of unique poetry images which were taken tragic feeling as basement. Because of their strong subjective color and deep tragic sentiment, his poetry images exercise artistic appeal in ancient and modem times.
