张谷英古建筑群,是至今保存完好的宗法家族社会中血缘关系聚族而居的古村落,它将儒家文化、民俗文化、风水文化融于建筑中,是不可多得的湘北民居活化石。通过建筑形制、构造、选址及装饰艺术,可以窥见其传统文化的深厚底蕴。

This paper points out that Zhang Guying Ancient Architecture Group, the protected building in full condition, is a village in which people have lived by the patriarchal clan system society connected with kin. This group has blended Confucian culture, folk culture and geomantic omen culture in the architecture through construction, decoration and choice of location. It is an uncommon living fossil of North Hunan village.
