A Debate on Poem and Fu and Confucian Classics Argumentation from Middle to Late Northern Song Dynasty

诗赋是唐代至宋初科举考试中的重要内容。北宋中期以后,诗赋受到越来越多的攻击,其地位逐渐下降。庆历新政与熙宁变法中,诗赋与经义的斗争和党派之争、道德之争夹杂在一起,呈现出复杂的局面。元祐年间诗赋、经义分科取士,奠定了南宋科举制度的基本格局。

Poem and Fu is an important part of Imperial examination from Tang to Early Northern Song Dynasty. Since Mid-Northern Song, suffered more and more criticisms, the position of Poem and Fu declined. During Qingli New Deal and Xi＇ning Reform, the debate on Shifu and Jingyi was very complicated. On Yuanyou 4th, the examination was divided into two seetions： Shifu and Jingyi. This reform laid the cornerstone of Imperial examination system for South Song Dynasty.
