Positron annihilation spectroscopy has been a pwerful tool for pure and applied research in materials science because of its simpler experimental process and giving novel technical information for microstructure of materials. The present paper s purpose is to give some rudiment about positron annihilation spectroscopy for the research of materials in our institute. It consists of five parts: introduction, the basis of positron annihilation, the spectrometers of positron annihilation, the preparation of samples for positron annihilation, and its application, especially in metallic materials.
