This paper introduced the basic principles of QR code recognition, designed a QR code recognition system based on the Symbian smsrtphone, and presented the key problems that should be noted when the system is implemented on Symbian OS. The tests showed that the system could recognize the QR code quickly and correctly, and cope with the inclination of QR code symbol and projection deformation.
