汉英称谓语的语用功能及其互译

On the Pragmatic Functions of Chinese and English Address Forms and Mutual Translation

社交语境中使用的称谓语,除表示对交际对象直称或他称的语义功能外,还往往蕴含着示亲昵、表威胁、言请求、传喜恶等多种言外语力和语用功能。本文探讨的是在对称谓语的英汉互译中应以语用对等为准则,充分考虑语境因素,准确地反映称谓者双方的身份,传达称谓者语气,表达称谓者情感以及体现称谓语的语体特征。

Apart from the semantic functions, the address forms used in social context always imply such illocutionary acts and pragmatic functions as intimacy, threatening, request and emotion. This paper discusses that the translation of address forms should be based on the principle of pragmatic equivalence and take the contextual factor into full consideration, which can help us to precisely reflect the identity of both addresser and addressee, convey the addresser＇s tone, emotion and embody the stylistic feature of address forms as well.
