The overall goal of the study is to explore how to use probit model in the empirical research. Detailed descriptions about the estimated method of the Probit model and the estimated coefficient are discussed. The probit model is applied in the application of plant variety protection （PVP）. Its results show that most of the variable coefficients are statistically significant, indicating that the probit model can perform well in explaining PVP applications.
