《阅微革堂笔记》中记载了大量六道轮回和因缘果报之事,对此观念后世要么视而不见,要么将其看成落后的、反动的封建迷信。实际上《笔记》为我们提供了一个极佳的视角,特别是在乾嘉学术极为兴盛的时代,纪昀的思想认识无疑极有代表性。他的困惑与矛盾正反映了儒家思想资源的困惑。

Notes of Yuewei Caotang has recorded a great deal of karma transmigration, the later generations have to which turned a blind eye, or regarded it as underdeveloped and reactionary feudal superstitions. Actually, the Notes provides us an excellent perspective from which it can be found that Ji Yun＇s thoughts were undoubtedly typical especially when Qianlong- Jiaqing academics were at their heights. His bewilderments and contradictions cast light on the bewilderments of Confucianism.
