西华师范大学在60年发展历程中逐渐形成的"负重自强,铸魂励教"的办学特色,体现了几代西华师大人锲而不舍、追求卓越的精神风貌,是校园文化的集中体现,是学校传统精神的内核,是学校不断开拓进取的强大精神动力,是培养学生师德师能的思想基础和根本途径,是提升学生竞争能力,赢得社会广泛赞誉的有效法宝,在学校的建设发展和人才培养中发挥了重要的作用。

In the course of sixty-year development, China West Normal University has gradually formed its characterlsties of running school, i. e. ＂ Shouldering Responsibility with Self-Reliance and Hard Struggle, Encouraging Teaching and Moulding Characters＂ which embody the spiritual way of sticking to perfection with persistence for several generations in the university. They are the centralized expression of campus culture, the core of its traditional spirit,the great spiritual motive force of its exploring and making progress, the ideological basis and fundmental way of cuhirating students＇ teaching morality and ability and the effectual weapon of heightening the competitive ability of students and winning high praises of society. They have played an eimportant role in the development of the university building and training talents.
