30 Years of Chinese ＂Abstract＂ Art

2007年7月．一场关于抽象艺术历史、发展、前景的研讨会在中央美院召开。这次关于抽象艺术的研讨会与以往略有不同。首先是形式上．会议不仅邀请了美术界的批评家和艺术家．还邀请了西川、刘禾、李陀、汪晖等诗人、文学批评家及相关学科人士参加。由于跨学科、跨领域的人士出席．带来了很多新思路、新话题。

In July 2007, a symposium on the history, development and prospect of abstract art opened in the Central Fine Arts Academy This symposium on abstract art is different from the ones in past. The first difference is the form of organization. The symposium also invited some poets, fiterature critics and people in related subjects field besides art critics and artists, which brought many new ideas and new topics, making the discussion hot and active. Just as the guests participated said, this symposium reminded people of the nice time that people in different fields talked about art together in the 1980s. The second difference is the content of discussion. The symposium put forward many problems and explored the relation between abstract art and modernism.
