现阶段,"评价理论"的发展在国内外呈方兴未艾之势,说明作为一种理论它有着独特的魅力。在研习该理论的过程中,我们感叹它的创新意识、一致性、概括性和解释力,但也常常遇到疑惑和问题。本文将讨论三个问题:评价理论的魅力,评价理论带给人们的困惑及其消解。

As a complementary theory to the Interpersonal Metafunction of SFL, Appraisal Theory has been flourishing both at home and abroad. Learners or readers are amazed at its great charms in many aspects such as its innovativeness, consistency, abstractness and applicability; and inevitably questions and dilemmas arise. This paper focuses on three aspects, namely 1） how Appraisal Theory gains its charm and where its charm lies, 2）what questions and dilemmas it brings to us learners and 3） how to get out of the dilemmas.
