摘要
衔接与连贯研究一直是语篇分析的重要课题,以往对衔接手段的研究往往局限于语篇意义与概念意义,本文认为对于衔接的研究应将人际意义纳入研究范围。我们以评价系统理论为基础,认为语篇态度也是一种衔接手段,并建立了语篇态度的分析模式。本文通过借用Martin的态度韵律结构对语篇中态度资源的分析,揭示了语篇中态度韵的运作方式即态度的波浪韵、发散韵和梯度韵。正是这三种韵律结构共同流动于语篇之中,使语篇成为了连贯的整体。本文对于态度韵衔接手段的探讨进一步证实了人际意义确实具有衔接功能这一事实。
The study of coherence and cohesion is one of the important issues in discourse analysis. Many theories have been developed about this issue, most of which are concerned with textural and ideational coherence. In this paper, we argue that interpersonal meaning should be taken into consideration in coherence study. Based on the Appraisal Theory,we regard attitudinal meaning also as a type of cohesive devise. Therefore, we construct the attitude analyzing model, disclosing three modes of attitudinal prosodies~ the modes of wave, dispersion and scalar. These prosodies corporately make the whole discourse a coherent unit. The significance of this paper, if there is any, lies in proving that interpersonal meaning has the function of coherence in discourse.
