On the Dimensionality of Culturally-loaded Words in Literary Translation

文学作品中的文化语词既是文学艺术的表现形式,又是民族文化的象征。文学作品中文化语词的翻译作为一种文化交流形式,其实质就是用目标语文本再现原语文本的内容。这种"再现"行为可表现出"转换"、"重写","二次创作"三种样态。其原则都是忠实地表达原作的内容,"述而不作"。

Literary translation, as a cross-cultural communication in the form of converting an expression from one language into another different from each other by means of re-creating or rewriting the original meaning of the source language text in a target language text, is a rendering process of words and sentences at the discourse level. The original thought with its culture of the expression reflected by culturally-loaded words and structures must be reproduced as faithfully and expressively as possible with corresponding words and syntactical patterns. Nothing should be added to or taken away from the original meaning. The faithful foundations of reproduction are laid out in conversion, rewriting and re-creation.
