In recent years, the development and application for multimedia satellite system, whose broadband and transmission flux are asymmetric, has become one of the hot techniques in the field of satellite communication.This paper introduces the design of Ka/Ku frequency band multimedia satellite system, which describes its structure, application and also discusses some key techniques concerning modem, multiple access, network access as well as its security, etc.
