On the Proposition of "the Law of the Unity of Opposites is the Essence and Gist of Materialist Dialectics"

唯物辩证法是马克思主义哲学重要的组成部分,也是马克思主义重要的方法论,对其实质和核心问题的探讨具有重要的理论和实践意义。目前,在学术界居主导地位的思想是"对立统一规律是唯物辩证法的实质和核心"。笔者认为,这种提法有些绝对化,否定之否定规律在一定意义上也是唯物辩证法的实质和核心。

Materialist dialectics is an important component of Marxist philosophy, and a critical methodology of Marxism as well;it is of great theoretical and practical significance to probe into the issue about its essence and gist. The thought that currently dominates the academic circle is that ＂the law of the unity of opposites is the essence and gist of materialist dialectics＂. According to the author, the remark as such is to some degree absolute, since the law of negation of negation is also to some degree the essence and gist of materialist dialectics.
