On the Metaphoric Connotations of Zhang Jie's No Letter

研究张洁《无字》,对进一步确立张洁在当代文学史的地位,是很有意义的。张洁在《无字》里以女性独特的生命体验和审美直觉使用大量隐喻表达作者的某种意念、思想和情绪。本文主要分析张洁如何通过能指如"篮筐"、"窗"、"擦洗餐叉""无字"去隐喻所指,含蓄描绘了一家三代女主人公悲剧性命运并赋予了象征寓意,从而把握《无字》文本的精神内核。

Studies of Zhang Jie＇s No Letter are significant for the establishment of Zhang Jie＇s place in contemporary literature.Based on unique life experience and aesthetic intuitive as a female,Zhang Jie employed abundant metaphors to express her will,emotion and feelings.This paper focuses on the analysis of Zhang Jie＇s use of signifiers,e.g.＂basket＂,＂window＂,＂scrub forks＂and ＂no letter＂,to metaphorize the signified for the indirect description and symbolization of the tragic misfortune of the three generations of the family.It is hoped that the analysis here may be of any help for readers to master the spiritual core of the text of No Letter.
