There are a number of cleaning processes employed by end-users and commercial service groups to remove residual polymer and additives from metallic filters used in polymer filtration. The impact on polymer plant operating costs resulting from the degree of effectiveness of these processes related to process efficiency, product quality and replacement cost of filters will be discussed here. Actual commercial operating data from historical performance will be used as a benchmark.
