Cadmium sulfide (CdS) particles were deposited on the surface of microporous transparent titanium dioxide (TiO 2) electrode, then were modified with GaTSPc to prepare a co modified TiO 2 electrode. Since low band gap semiconductor CdS particles and GaTSPc have different spectral in the visible region, the co modified TiO 2 electrode could effectively absorb visible light. Experimental results showed that the sensitization of TiO 2 electrode with GaTSPc and CdS not only extended the optical absorption spectrum and photocurrent action spectrum into a wider visible scope, but also facitiated the photo to photocurrent conversion efficiency. So solar energy could be fully utilized.
