This paper outlines the general situation of the worldwide exploration and utilization of nuclear energy,and the plan for construction of nuclear power plants in China;makes comprehensive comments on active tectonic issues in siting nuclear power plants and methods for disposing nuclear wastes;puts forward some problems which merit our attention in siting of disposal sites for nuclear wastes.
