The operational costs of oil-fired boilers are continuously increasing with the rise in oil prices. Natural gas is a clean and economic green fuel that has high heat value and combustion efficiency, so it is an effective way to carry out the substitution of natural gas for oil in utility boilers in areas with natural gas. This paper describes a project of transforming oilfired boilers into boilers fuelled by either oil or gas. and explicates the content of the technical transformation for energy conservation and loss reduction, thus providing reference for similar projects.
