摘要 翻译的本质是跨文化信息传递,是在目的语中展现原作风格和思想的文化活动。译者应该综合考虑读者的接受能力、能动性和阅读经验等因素,竭力协调好原语文化和目的语文化的关系。概述了中西文化差异,系统分析了文化语境对译文得体性的动态影响,拟从文化空缺和文化差异两个层面进一步探求汉英互译中恰当处理文化意象的有效策略。 The nature of translation is to transmit cultural information and reproduce the content and style of the original work. A translator should try to balance the influence of the original and target cultures with his readers' reception, reading initiative and experiences in his mind. Dynamic adaptation to context is the only way to make natural and appropriate choices in the target language. And only by accurately understanding and reproducing the meanings of the original in context can a translator give a chance for his readers to get the psychological experience which is as similar as possible to what the original readers get after they read. There exists a gap between the cultures in English-speaking countries and Chinese culture. The author will summary the differences between the Chinese and Western cultures and then systematically examine the influence of cultural context on appropriateness in inte-translation between English and Chinese languages to find good strategies of how to translate cultural images when a translator meets with cultural gaps or differences.
