摘要
对苔丝的悲剧命运进行了解析,认为在构成她的悲剧当中,克莱尔的冷酷无情、苔丝的爱情至上观、维多利亚时期男权文化对女性的压抑,是造成女主人公苔丝悲剧命运的主要原因。
This essay probes into the tragic fate of Tess and holds the opinion that among the elements contributing to her tragedy, the major reasons include the cruelty of Clare, Tess＇ s lofty love, and the oppression on the female by the male-dominated society in Victorian Age.
