教育家欧元怀从大学生肩负的社会使命和学术使命等角度来认识大学生修养的必要性。他针对当时大学生修养上存在的问题加以深入分析,指出大学生应从充实个人修养、专心研究学问、协力挽救国难、共谋复兴民族四个方面进行修养,至今仍具有一定的现实意义。

Ou Yuan- huai, an educationalist in our country, thinks it is a necessity to cultivate university students from social missions, academic missions and so on. He analyzes deeply the problems of cultivation of the university students at that time. He points out that university student should strengthen individual cultivation, be completely absorbed in knowledge, join in a common effort to save the nationin calamity and work for the national rejuvenation, which is still of certain practical significance now.
