区域性高校占普通高校的一半左右,其主要任务是为地方经济建设和社会发展服务。在社会主义新农村建设中具有特殊作用,属于面向广大农村的高等教育范畴。区域性高校必须树立以服务为宗旨,在贡献中求发展的办学理念,构建适应本区域尤其是新农村建设需要的人才培养模式,为农村建设提供科技支撑,推动新农村文化建设健康发展。

The regional colleges and universities occupy about the half of ordinary colleges and universities, which serve primarily for local economic construction and the social development. Higher education with countryside-oriented has the special function in the construction of new socialist countryside. The regional colleges and universities must set up the school-running concepts with taking the service as the aim and seeking for the development in the contribution, construct the talents training pattern which adapts the needs of new rural construction, provide the scientific and technological support for the rural construction, impel the health development of new countryside cultural construction.
