国际生物特征识别集团（IBG）预计，2007年全球生物特征识别市场的规模在41亿美元左右，而近几年将会是生物特征识别市场的爆发期，年增长率可能在80％以上。在我国，人口众多，流动性强，生物特征识别拥有巨大的市场潜力。同时，中国生物特征识别产业相对国际生物特征识别产业具有后发性，因而中国生物特征识别产业在未来的增长将更高于全球生物特征识别产业的总体增长。
The First International Biometric Identification Technology Development Summit Forum, sponsored by Automatic Identification Manufacture Association of China, was opened on the 22nd, August. The forum was mainly involved with the main topic 'Pushing forward the Process of Industry and Standardization of Biometric Identification' to discuss the latest achievements in research of biometric identification, the marketing demands of China’s biometric identification, and the practical cases of biometric identification technology in the various walks of life.
