As an immigrant from Hujian Province, Hong Kong writer Chen Juan displays special characteristics in her fictions, which are closely related to her unique experiences and her special female viewpoint. Most of her works are about females in Hong Kong, depicting their existence and mental world. Such depiction reflects the society of Hong Kong and pictures the psychological differences between the female writer, the female immigrant, and the local fe- males. The different types of females in her novels have formed a special community in Hong Kong society. Furthermore, the immigrant＇s point of view is pervasive in her novels, which enables her to see and feel as nobody else has done. The narration in Chen＇s novels is with ease, the psychological descrip- tion is touching and realistic, and the texts are fraught with emotions. In all, Chen holds a very important position in the literary circle of Hong Kong.
