The operation of the original equipment of the trimming disc knife on the K ü sters soft calender is to input with the keyboard on the disc knife interface of the DCS system. The original designer only takes into account of the superiority of the centralized control but neglects the operational safety and practicality of the trimming disc knife. Through a change made to the software and hardware, the operation can be carried out besides the framework of the disc knife with both safety and convenience. The paper introduces in detail the improvement of the software and hardware such as movement function of the trimming disc knife, adding buttons in the control box of DS/TS sides, the relevant new FB66 steps program newly modified and the newly added additional reset program.
