英语委婉语既是一种语言现象,也是一种文化现象,被广泛地使用并在交际活动中发挥着重要作用。英语委婉语的构建方式有多种,本文从语音手段、语法手段及修辞手段等三方面分析了委婉语的构建并从语用学的角度阐述了其交际功能。

Euphemism is both a language and cultural phenomenon and it is widely used and plays a very important role in the communicative activities. There are many kinds of approaches to the euphemistic speech. This article analyzes the constructing of the euphemism from the use of phonetic means, the use of the grammatical means and the use of the rhetoric means and then illustrates its communicative function from a pragmatic perspective.
