The population mortality rate in Ningxia has been lower than 5% for 7 years continuously since 2000, reaching the lowest level in the country. This article has conducted thorough analysis on the causes of low mortality rate in Ningxia covering the features of changes of the population mortality rate in Ningxia since the founding of the People＇s Republic of China, the level of economic and social development, people＇s lifestyle and the age formation of the population. It is aimed to provide scientific policy and theoretical evidence for decision makings at different levels.
