Pablo Neruda is a Chili poet, Jean-Paul Sartre is a French philosopher. But these two people have many things in common, They were born in the same times, had similar living background, experienced similar hardships, and maintained similar ideas for the responsibility that writers should take for their individual existence and their social obligations. However, the same message expressed by these two people are quite differently accepted and understood by readers. This article is trying to make a comparison between the poet and the philosopher, with the aim to arouse more profound researches on them and on their writings.
