Reconstruction of the traditional fate——An analysis of "Sister Carrie"from the perspective of reception aesthetics

作为接受美学理论的两个重要概念,期待视野和文本的召唤结构为文学研究提供了新的解读视角。本文从期待视野的历史性出发,结合文本的召唤结构,对德莱塞的《嘉莉妹妹》中的主要人物形象做出新的阐释,揭示作品人物的传统命运是如何在接受美学的角度下被再定义。

Both ＂the reader＇s horizon of expectation＇and ＂the evoctive structure＂are important concepts in the theory, of reader＇ s reception aesthetics. This paper attempts to analysize Sister Carrie by the application of the two concepts and to reveal how the main characters＇ traditional fate is reconstructed by the theory.
