古树名木是“活的文物”、“绿色古董”，古树名木的保护对生物资源和历史文化遗产的保护，以及广州市的“创园”工作有着重要的意义。多年以来，广州市中山纪念堂管理处一直非常重视园内古树名木的保护工作，通过建立完善的管理体系，不断改良和完善古树名木的保护措施，对园区内的古树名木实行动态管理。
