加强和改进大学生思想政治教育,提高他们的思想政治素质,把他们培养成为中国特色社会主义事业的建设者和接班人,对于全面实施科教兴国和人才强国战略,确保我国在激烈的国际竞争中始终立于不败之地,确保实现建设小康社会,加快推进社会主义现代化的宏伟目标,确保中国特色社会主义事业兴旺发达、后继有人,具有重大而深远的战略意义。

It is imperative to intemsify and upgrade ideological and political education for college students, to better their ideological and political qualities and to train them for the builders of and successors to the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In doing so, there is deep, great and strategic significance for fully implementing the strategy of boosting the nation through science and education and using talents to make the country powerfal and prosperous; and ensuring our country being in an invincible position all along in the keen international competition, the achievement of the grand goal of building a well-off society and speeding up socialist modernization, and the flourish and growth of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and having worthy successors to the cause.
