2006年末的日照港特别惹眼:10月16日,日照港股份有限公司在内地主板成功上市;11月25日,日照港吞吐量突破1亿吨大关,由此成为全国亿吨港口的第9名。作为日照港领军人物的杜传志心里当然异样兴奋。从建成投产到跨入亿吨大港,仅仅用了20年的时间,日照港的"飞长"凭的是何独门绝技?走进日照港,你会发现这个问题原来已经不说自明。"靠市场,靠规模,靠调整,而这一切必须以快制胜。"日照港集团有限公司董事长、党委书记杜传志的轻松解释下是日照港20年的艰苦创业之路。

On November 25, 2006, the total throughput of Rizhao Harbor broke through the barrier of 100 million tons, making the harbor the ninth of the 100-million-throughput harbors in China. As a result of its good geographical conditions, the business of Rizhao Habor has developed rapidly. From 1997 to 2005, the throughput of Rizhao Harbor had increased 22.6% per year, well above the 15.6%, average annual increase of the total throughput of the main national coastal harbors in China. Recently, Shandong Province has put forward ＂One Main Body with Two Wings＂--as its conception of regional economic development. The Southern Shandong Economic Belt provided a good opportunity for the development of Rizhao Harbor when it became the new growth point of the development of Shandong Province. As the only outward- bound harbor in southern Shandong with important infrastructural facilities, Rizhao Harbor is set to enhance further the service function, extend the harbor industrial chain, and promote economic integration with southern Shandong.
