The effects of nutrition, pH, temperature and egg densities on the infective juvenile formation of Steinemema feltiae were evaluated in 24-well culture plates. In the Ringer solution, all the eggs or juveniles died; at 10% strength of nematode culture medium, nematodes stayed in the second stage after hatching from the eggs. At above 20% strength of nematode culture medium, the formation of infective juveniles were negatively related to nutrition strength and positively related to egg densities. The optimum conditions for third stage nematode development were pH 7 - 8 and 20 - 25 ℃, higher percentage of infective juveniles would form out of those ranges. When pH was less than 5 or temperature was higher than 30 ℃, the nematodes would die.
