China Tenglong Aromatics Company in Xiamen will adopt the ＂Paramax X＂ technology licensed by the French Axens Company to construct a grassroots aromatics unit to optimize the manufacture of para-xylene. The construction of this unit will be implemented in two phases. The phase I project is slated for completion in 2009, including an 800 kt/a para-xylene unit, an 160 kt/a ortho-xylene unit and a 228 kt/a benzene unit. The phase II project will envisage the construction of a meta-xylene unit.
