翻译家鲁迅的“中间物”意识——以鲁迅早期翻译方式的变换为例

Lu Xun's"Intermediate"Consciousness and the Methodological Changes in His Early Career as a Translator

从"中间物"意识的角度,结合当时的社会文化背景,对翻译家鲁迅的翻译思想、翻译实践等方面进行阐发,有助于我们认识鲁迅以翻译为途径,在中国文学、文化现代性追求中所扮演的角色;有助于我们理解作为开拓者、探索者的翻译家鲁迅在思想发展、实践过程中出现的摇摆变化、矛盾错误或意气用事之处;也有助于我们从历时的角度去观察鲁迅与历史和未来的关系,从而为其在中国文学史和中国翻译史上的地位重新评估。本文试以鲁迅早期翻译方式的变换为例,对鲁迅这一阶段的"中间物"意识进行阐发。

This paper discusses Lu Xun's'intermediate'consciousness by correlating it with changes in his methods of translation.It argues that in exploring issues in Lu Xun's translational thoughts and practices,simultaneously taking into consideration the socio-cultural conditions of his time and his'intermediate'consciousness will have three advantages:it would enable us to appreciate more the key role Lu Xun played in China's pursuit of literary and cultural modernity;it would open our eyes to the oscillations and conflicts he experienced as a pioneer and an explorer in the emerging field of translation; and it would provide us with a historical point of view from which to determine how Lu Xun was situated vis-à-vis the past and the future.Such an approach makes it possible for us to re-evaluate Lu Xun's position in China's literary and translation history.
