In the middle and late years of East Han dynasty, the society was very turbulent. Plagues and earthquakes happened very frequently. Different kinds of disasters caused people to explore deep meaning of life and death. The poets were most sensitive about the experience of human life, and their understanding of the world fell from the height of ideal to the common but hard real life.
