Famine in Wugong County from 1929 to 1933

1929年到1933年,陕西及西北广大地区因为持续干旱,发生了特大饥荒,给当地社会造成了巨大的创伤,而陕西省武功县则是受灾最为严重的地区之一。本文在揭示当时武功灾情及灾民惨状、政府作为的同时,初步分析了导致这场严重灾害的社会原因。

From 1929 to 1933, a big famine occurred in Shaanxi as well as a great expanse of Northwest China, which caused immense traumas to the local community. Wugong County, Shaanxi Province was one of the most seriously stricken areas. An analysis is made of the reasons for this severe calamity through the exposure of the then situation of calamity and the miserable conditions of victims, and the government＇s doings.
