This paper makes a relatively profound discussion about the college English teaching methods in the re- form program, reports a two- year survey of the learning situation of the freshmen at Xi＇ an University of Post and Telecommunications in 2004, and summarizes the characteristics of teaching mode in different levels. At the same time, the paper analyzes the data of each class. On this basis, it probes into the development and teaching methods of college English teaching at Xi＇an University of post and Telecommunications.
