摘要
地质学是一门专业性很强的科学,因而地学专业英语翻译首先要立足于对地球科学知识的基本了解。地质专业英语文体一般呈现出措词严谨规范、句法及篇章结构复杂的特点,因此在翻译此类文章时一定要注意理清原文的篇章结构,谨慎遣词造句。此外,为提高译作质量和翻译能力,译者还应勤于学习,善于理论联系实际,灵活运用翻译技巧,不断总结和不断提高。
Geology is special in science, So the translator must learn basic knowledge of geology at first. English geological documents always have precise words and complicated sentences. Thus in the process of English-Chinese translation of geological documents, translator must pay more attention to making clear the text structure, wording and phrasing carefully. Moreover, in order to improve the translating quality, the translator should keep studying, be good at connecting theory with practice and subtly use translation skills.
