试论《坛经》的人间品格

On Characteristics of Human World of"the Sutra Spoken by the Six Patriarch"

《坛经》顿教法门,为传统佛教教义范畴和宗教仪式及功课中注入了鲜活的世间内涵,将人们从传统宗教角色和使命之中解放出来。《坛经》将传统佛教通过戒、定、慧等修行程序,皈依外在的佛、法、僧,依据佛法经论,实现成佛之目标的历程转换成体认自性般若,"识由本心"、"即心成佛"的顿悟过程。将外在的宗教仪式、功课与自性联系起来,实现宗教仪式和功课的内在化,体现了高度主体性精神和自由品质,这是《坛经》所蕴涵的人间佛教品格。

The Buddhism way of Sudden Enlightenment, puts a lot of characters of this world into traditional Buddhism categories and religious lessons and rites, thus lets persons free from the traditional religious characters and responsibilities. In order to make man＇ s Buddha dream true, traditional Buddhism made out a long procession, which including religious discipline, religious cultivation, religious wisdom, and believing in the Buddha- dharma - sangha, so that to be Buddha in the end. Such processions are not existed in ＂the Sutra Spoken by the Sixth Patriarch＂, in which all religious procession and rites are related to human＇ s Buddha nature. ＂the Sutra Spoken by the Sixth Patriarch＂ symbolizes the virtues of making by one＇ s own mind and freedom, which is called the character of the human world.
