摘要
从英汉姓名及称谓语的文化对比入手,对翻译时如何达到姓名及称谓语的语用对等进行探讨。解决这一问题的基本策略是:结合具体语境,明确姓名及称谓所传达的语用意义;保证特定语境中最重要意义优先传递;尽可能做到入乡随俗(即尽量符合译入语的语言规范)。
Based on a comparative study on Chinese and English cultures in names and address terms,this paper discusses how to achieve pragmatic equivalence in translating names and address terms.It holds that the solution lies basically in the following strategies：understanding the pragmatic meaning conveyed by means of names and address terms,giving priority to the most important meaning in the light of a particular situation,conforming to the language norms of the target language as far as possible.
