Examples of Improper Translation in Mutual English-Chinese Translation

在英汉翻译教学中,学生所犯的种种错误在很大程度上都与不能正确理解英汉词汇差异、英汉句法结构与英汉思维表达方式有关。文章列举了翻译教学中学生出现的种种误译现象,分析其成因并提出减少和消除这类误译的建议。

In English- Chinese translation teaching, the author finds that most of the mistakes made by students are connected with the fact that they can＇ t understand the lexical differences between English and Chinese,the English and Chinese sentence patterns,and the thinking mode of English people and Chinese people. This paper lists the students＇ mistakes, analyses the causes of the mistakes, and accordingly provides some approaches to reduce and eliminate such mistake.
