The Xian Mausoleum, located in Zhongxiang of Hubei Province, is the earliest Royal Tombs awarded as the World Cultural Heritage by the United Nations. It keeps the feudal ritual in Ming Dynasty completely, and incarnates its own charateristics in the course of constructing, comparing with other Mausoleums. Through elaborating design skills of architectural layout and landscape elements, this article considers that Xian Mausoleum reflects that the designers in Ming Dynasty have understanding and respecting of natural resources such as the original ecological topography and rainwaters, and innovation spirit in the process of practice with the view of modern landscape design.
