About the Appointment of the Person Responsible for Russian Refugee Affairs:A Discussion with Professor Zhang Jianhua

对张建华教授关于俄国难民事务负责人的任命、南森译名的翻译等几个问题提出商榷,以为俄国难民事务负责人是由国际联盟任命的,而非国际红十字会,两战期间国际联盟在难民的救济、遣返、保护等方面发挥了主要的作用,南森及南森护照的翻译应采用规范的译名。

This paper discusses such problems with Professor Zhang Jianhua as the appointment of the person responsible for Russian refugee affairs, the translation of the name Fridtjof Nansen. We think the appointment was made by the League of Nations rather than the International Red Cross. The League of Nations played a major role in the relief, repatriation and protection of refugees. And the translation of the mane Fridtjof Nansen and Nansen＇s passport must be standardized.
