摘要
20年前,赵朴初先生与季羡林先生连袂发起编辑出版《佛教画藏》,是一部史无前例的巨大美术出版工程。赵朴初先生为《佛教画藏》写了总序言。这是一篇义理深邃、内容丰富的重要文章,它深入浅出地论述佛教义理与佛教艺术的辩证关系,提出许多精到的见解,是佛教文化研究的纲领性、指南性文献。文章对《佛教画藏系列丛书总序》试作解读,同时结合佛教研究、特别是新疆佛教艺术研究中存在的某些问题,作辨析和评述。
"Buddhist Paintings", a great master piece of art, co-edited by Zhao Puchu and Ji Xianlin 20 years ago. The "Preface" by Zhao Puchu to the magnum opus is of profound meaning, which introduces the dialectic rela- tionship of the Buddhist belief, principles and its artistic value. The "Preface" is still considered as introduction to the study of the Buddhism. The present article tries to explain the "Preface", pointing out the problems existed in the study of Buddhism in Xinjiang.
